2 weeks ago, I spontaneously decided to go volunteer at an amazing festival in London called the Idler Festival (where I got to meet incredible cultural figures like David Graeber and Michael Palin). It was SO WORTH the last-minute travel plans and I definitely plan to be there again next year.
It did, however, leave me a liiiittle bit more cramped for time as I prep for my month-long artist residency in Woodstock, NY (starting in a little over a week). That means things have been sorta chaotic around here (in an excited, good kind of way), and not super focused on me being outwardly expressive with my music this past month and a half.
All that said, I'm pleased that I can now let you know that I've got some seriously awesome stuff in the pipeline for during my Woodstock trip:
A radio interview 📻on the Radio Kingston program "I Want What SHE Has"
Volunteering at The 2018 Summer Hoot 🎟️ in nearby Olivebridge at the Ashokan Center
Joining the band King Radio performing 🎤at Transperformance 28: AmperBands! Benefit Music Festival for Arts in Northampton, MA
With the rest of my time, I'll be composing a new synth piece 🎛️🎚️to perform at Dutch Modular Fest 2018, later in September in Den Haag
I've also been hoping to arrange to play a solo bass+voice gig while I'm in the NE of the US, but it has surprisingly fallen a little lower on my priority list as I've been preparing my life to be away from home for such an extended period of time.
But that's what I'm going to be looking into vigorously for the coming week, and I hope that if anyone has any leads for me where I can book a cozy 20 - 30 minutes of my weird little songs, you'll let me know!
(This is when it'd sure be nice to have an assistant... Actually, just throwing this out there: if you're reading this and thinking being an assistant to a musician/artist sounds interesting to you at all for stuff like booking and travel arrangements, please drop me an email – virtual or in person could both, I think. I'd love to hear from you and see if we could arrange a mutually beneficial relationship!)
