SINGER // SONGWRITER
“SUBTLETY AND POWER ... CHECK IT OUT!”
— Van Dyke Parks (Composer, Arranger)
G.T. THOMAS is a producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist bringing you her original, semi-acoustic, nouveau lounge tunes.
Her electric bass lines ground you, then wind around her soft, intense soprano voice. With lyrical prowess, a penchant for sincerity, and the recent addition of vibraphone by Julien Moussiegt and Latin percussion by Jeroen de Rijk, it's:
Lounge meets pop meets story-time from the edge of the world.
G.T. Thomas has presented her material as a solo artist, performing from Amsterdam to Seattle to NYC.
The G.T. Thomas Trio is based in The Netherlands and is happy to travel.

6 songs recorded during on-air performance on "Songwriters Guild Live" in Amsterdam, May 2018.
From the years 2004 - 2010, Thomas performed under the name "The Luckless Pedestrian."
The (mostly orchestral pop/ indie pop) materials from that period, were released on Smoking Ant Records in 2011, under her freshly adopted “G.T. Thomas” artist name.
4 of the 12 tracks of the album "The Luckless Pedestrian Years 2004 - 2010" can be heard (and purchased) here, as well as the physical CD containing all 12 songs. Several of the tunes were produced and performed in part by Thomas' mentor at the time, Chris Dedrick (The Free Design).
The album received airplay by DJ Danny Baker on London's BBC Radio 1, as well as in the US and the Netherlands.
In 2014, G.T. Thomas released the single "Theater of Mirrors," which was produced by Grammy-winner Michael Leonhart (Steely Dan), in 3 magical, whirlwind days in New York City.
Theater of Mirrors
“STUNNINGLY ARRANGED ORCHESTRAL POP SONGS WHEREIN THERE'S MORE TO BE DISCOVERED UPON EVERY LISTEN.”
— Eric Scipio (Heaven Magazine)
“A MELODIC ARCHITECT; EACH RECORDING A SCENIC TOWN YOU WANT TO REVISIT.”
— Ken Maiuri (The Hampshire Daily Gazette/ WMUA radio DJ)

As a singing songwriter, I can also be found participating in 2 side-projects that are near and dear to my heart – as a solo artist in Sarcastalites and a band member in Bauer.
Thomas produces, writes, plays bass, and sings her own original songs in a '70s disco style.
The debut album "Spaces for Strangers" is out on cassette as of December 8, 2017 on Cleveland/ Amsterdam label Bullshit Night Records. If you feel like boogying, visit the Sarcastalites website.
Thomas co-writes, plays bass, flute, and sings with this orchestral pop project. The LP "Eyes Fully Open" was released on October 7th, 2016. If you'd like to hear powerful, cinematic pop visit the Bauer website.
Thomas participated in all 8 performances of the Bauer tour of the Netherlands that promoted the 2016 album. (April 2, 2017 @ De Roode Bioscoop, Amsterdam; December 14, 2016 @ Vera, Groningen; December 8 @ Het Koorenhuis, Den Haag; December 3 @ Ekko, Utrecht; December 2 @ Merleyn, Nijmegen; October 15 @ Concerto Recordstore, Amsterdam; October 9 live on Radio2 with Leo Blokhuis; October 7 "Eyes Fully Open" Release show @ Paradiso Noord / Tolhuistuin, Amsterdam.)
Taking a step back, it’s easy to see a minimalist tendency has always been just beneath the surface of many of the songs she has been writing/ performing (primarily as a singing bassist) over the last decade, as well as in her compositions for art installations that have been heard around the world.
In her synth pieces, her interest in minimalism finally takes center stage. G.T. Thomas uses sequencers to explore the phase-like impact of phrases of overlapping, varying lengths as they go through changes of timbre and tempo (what she calls "phrase phasing"). The result is a musical journey between pre-composed peaks and valleys, with spontaneous, organically improvised detours all along the way.
DOOLDER OF NOODLERS
“The synthesizer community in The Netherlands is a group of really warm, non-competitive, supportive musicians, inventors, and creative thinkers.
I recently got the urge to make little drawings of synthesizer performers... in other words, to be a ‘doodler of noodlers.’ If you’d like me to come make drawings of my observations during your live synth event, drop me a note! Could spice up your social media pages or whatnot. I’m most certainly accepting guest-list spots in exchange for this service.”
