"IT'S EASIER TO REMEMBER SOMETHING IF YOU TURN IT INTO A SONG."

- G.T. THOMAS

Amsterdam-based recording/ performing artist G.T. Thomas is a one-woman-show, thoughtfully rearranging the self-produced tracks on her album of PROGRESSIVE LOUNGE POP songs, entitled "I Am a Highlighter Pen" for her live solo act on bass, synth, drum machine, and voice – which she plays simultaneously (no computers, no backing tracks, no loopers). On special occasions she creates minimalist, meditative excursions that enhance her songs, using her semi-modular synth system.

Through it all, she proves that even having collaborated with Fleet Foxes, the Metropole Orchestra, Benny Sings, and members of The B-52s, Steely Dan, and Pedro the Lion, she's never lost her love of doing everything herself.

Her current work is heavily inspired by fellow simultiinsrumentalist Nate Wood (fOUR), creative mastermind Jim Henson (The Muppets), and her longest standing musical hero Donald Fagen (Steely Dan).

G.T. Thomas is a selectee for Popronde 2020 and has been chosen amongst the Top 10 acts by Musicmaker magazine and Klap van de Molen podcast.

"NOWADAYS, WHEN PEOPLE ASK ME WHAT I'VE GOT UP MY SLEEVE, I KEEP FINDING... MY OWN ARMS."

For the first time in 5 years, I've got availability to take on a few one-on-one students! Would you like to explore if studying with me would be a good fit for you?

That way we can see how I can help you grow in your music practice and get clearer on expressing your musical vision! Subjects range from: synthesizers, to song craft, to simulti-instrumentalism, to creativity and motivation. Find out more details about each area of study by clicking here!

NOTE: It's been 5 years since I made it possible to study with me, so don't miss this chance. Looking forward to connecting with you!

Want to get highlights and perspectives from G.T.?
