Amsterdam-based recording/ performing artist G.T. Thomas goes over revelations from her daily journals with a highlighter pen, and transforms them into memorable refrains on her new album of Progressive Dream Pop songs, "I Am a Highlighter Pen" (release: November 2019).

These songs that helped her internalize her mantras recently offered their perspective-shifting magic to live audiences, during her tour of the East Coast of the US, November 3 - 18, 2019. More shows are on the way!

Not only her lyrics reflect upon our individual potential for awesomeness, but her live performance itself:
In her take on the one-woman-band, G.T. Thomas accompanies her soft, intense voice by simultaneously performing bass, synthesizer, and drum machine – all LIVE (no computers/ backing tracks/ loopers).

Having worked with artists like Fleet Foxes, Metropole Orchestra, Benny Sings, and others as a session player or co-writer, G.T. Thomas is also no stranger to doing everything herself on her own music, from writing, to arranging, and often playing all the instruments on her self-produced recordings.

That being said, never before has she attempted to perform all the instruments simultaneously in her live act. For this new phase, she is heavily inspired by one-person-bands Nate Wood (fOUR) and Catriona Sturton, as well as her musical hero Donald Fagen (Steely Dan) – who she recently had the privilege to meet. "It's been my biggest dream to meet him .... This was my Everest. Since that encounter ... I just felt like, 'I can accomplish anything. Why not [try] playing three instruments at once?'"
